Beaming with pride

Tonight, I am proud of something only a mommy would be proud of. Tonight, Colton ate his FIRST restaurant meal. That's right folks, I am proud of my son for eating off of a kids menu at a restaurant. Tonight, I did not cook a meal before we left for a meal out. Tonight, everyones plate was cleared and we waited on COLTON to finish his dinner! Tonight, my little guy ate like a big kid!

As you know, my son is a picky picky eater who just recently got even pickier. When he decided this week to stop eating fishsticks we decided it was time to get tough. He had to eat more than fruit, yogurt and crackers. This week we have given Colton what we eat for dinner and nothing else. Actually, we started this on Wednesday and it's now only Friday. On Wednesday we had burgers, mac and cheese and homemade fries. Colton LOVED the mac and cheese and he even tried one very small bite of a hamburger patty. He continued to ask for "mo" and "mo" mac and cheese. Thursday, for lunch, we tried McDonald's nuggets and Colton enjoyed a few bites of one nugget. Now this may sound silly that I am happy he ate a nugget, but you have to understand that he hasn't tried anything we've put on his plate, aside from what he likes, for the past 6 or 7 months. Just trying anything is huge. Last night, we had spaghetti, Colton played with it but didn't take a bite. We know this will take time. After eating his weight in mac and cheese tonight I think there's something new we can add to the list of foods he will eat. He's off to his Nanny and Grandad's this weekend so Im sure we will have to start the whole process over next week.

Tag YOU'RE it!

Tag you're it!
My friend Leah motivated me to play along.

1. Open the first picture file on your computer.
2. Scroll to the 10th picture.
3. Post the picture behind it.

OH MY WORD!
This picture was taken the first week were home with our sweet baby boy. He was sleeping in his daddy's arms in the rocking chair. This picture brings back so many memories. I don't remember him being this small. This was one of the most trying and scary times in my life but also the best and most amazing time of my life.
This little man, right here, has changed my life so much and I can not imagine life without him. Each day I love him more and more.

I tag everyone who reads this. If you play along leave me a comment so I can check out your 10th picture.

Rodeo

I just realized that it has been a while since I posted so I thought I'd share a few pictures of our trip to the Houston Livestock Show. We went last Saturday with our entourage; Nanny Grandad, Aunt Becky, GaGa and PawPaw. We did a little shopping, a little eating and a lot of animal watching.
Colton really liked the petting zoo, but not near as much as we thought he would. He is absolutely obsessed with animals, so we expected a lot of excitement. When we got into the petting zoo it was really crowded and Colton loved seeing the animals but really preferred the ones behind the fence. He did venture out a little bit.
(Sorry, I forgot to flip this one and its way too much work to go in and fix it.)

After warming up to all of the animals he helped the bull riders stay safe! :)
This was an exciting moment. He was begging for my corn dog and I happily shared it with him thinking he might have a bite. He didn't. He just wanted the stick and tried to pull the corn dog off the stick. I never thought I'd be excited about my child wanting to eat a fried greasy corn dog but it was almost a very big moment for our extremely picky eater...almost!
This might have been Colton's favorite part of the whole day. His eyes lit up when he saw the "uck" (truck) or as we call it, tractor. It was a fight to get him off here.
After all of that fun, Colton slept through our last round of shopping.

What a fun day with all of our favorite people!!! Gotta love Rodeo time in Houston Tx!

Colton's Choice

Last night Zak let Colton pick out his own PJ's. Colton's choice...
Too small dino pants
(that I had a very hard time getting off of him this morning)
and a striped baseball top.
He was very proud of himself when he came out after bath time.
Can't wait to see what he chooses when he heads off to school.

Not good enough

Yep...
That's my son...
Asleep in the car...
With a cookie in his mouth!

I guess the cookie wasn't good enough to keep him awake on our drive home.
