The Rodeo and The Rodeo Performance

Colton has been wanting to go to the Rodeo and see all of the action since last year. It's that time of year around here and Becky was able to get us tickets for Saturday.  We were all so excited to go.  Nanny, Grandad and Aunt Baa came along as well.  The boys have been to the Livestock Show before but never to the actual Rodeo.  Colt was so excited to see the Mutton Bustin'. I was nervous about the whole thing.  Usually when we go we go early and beat the crowd but since we were seeing the show we couldn't go too early.
We got there around 12:30 and it was WINDY and cool.  When we pulled into Reliant Colton, who was riding with Nanny, Grandad and Baa looked at Baa and said, "Holy Guacamole, it's huge.  It must have grown since last time."  Then when he saw the tram, "There is that train we go home on.  I'm gonna pass out on that train."  He was full of these funny comments all day! We got a good parking spot and loaded up on the tram to the entrance. This was one of the boys favorite parts of the day.
The Livestock Show was so crowded but the boys did awesome.  Colt walked around the whole time excited to see everything. We enjoyed lunch and a little boot and lasso shopping then we headed in for the show. The boys sat so well for the show.  Well, Colt sat for the show.  Chase stood and walked and wiggled but did really well all in all. We had no intention of staying for the singer but we made it through the entire Rodeo. Colt loved the bulls and Mutton Bustin'. It was so cool because we were watching on the big screen and two of my former students were competing in the Mutton Bustin'.  Last year when we watched it in the small arena outside, Colton said, "No way.  I'm not ever doing that!"  This year he was all about it and says he wants to try next year.  We will see.  We may have a little cowboy on our hands!
I didn't take many pictures.  Most of these are courtesy of Aunt Baa. (THANKS!)  I always have all kinds of cameras with me.  I try to capture every second and because of that I miss everything.  So, I took a break and it was awesome!  Thank goodness Baa was there!

Last week Colton had his Rodeo performance with Mrs. Barb, at school.  He did awesome!  In years past, even earlier this year in his Christmas Chapel, he would not participate in these type of things.  For the Rodeo he sang every song and did every move.  Zak and I were so proud of him and he had a great time!

Chase didn't participate in Rodeo Day this year but he made a hat...
he refused to wear!
