Baseball Assesments

We are BASEBALL READY...
New shoes, glove, bat, bag...

Saturday, the boys had baseball assessments.  They didn't go as planned.  Zak ended up being out of town so I took the boys.  It started out as a scary morning.  Mom was admitted to the hospital for chest pains. Thankfully it turned out to be a false alarm. With everything going on, Dad was determined to make it out to the fields.  And he did, thank goodness, because things got crazy and hectic.  It was muddy and PACKED out there.  When I went to sign Chase in, he wasn't on the 7U list.  WHAT!?!?!?!  Panic set in.  Colt was signed in with out a hitch (thank goodness).  I went into worry mode.  What had happened???  What did I do wrong??? After some searching and much panic, I found and talked to the commissioner, and we realized Chase was signed up for 6u.   I dropped the ball, somewhere! 6U is still coach pitch but we wanted to play him up with his teammates from last year.  I was a mess.  I was SOOOO mad at myself.  Thankfully in all the confusion, Dad and Allen showed up to help with the boys.  Dad took Chase to the park and he said as they walked away Chase said, "Its ok, I didn't wanna try out anyways!" I got Colt on the field to practice and assessments started.  What should have been an hour turned into almost 3.  But, we made it.  I am so thankful my sister was able to come hang out with my mom so Allen and Dad could be there.  It was so crazy busy and in all the confusion, I was a HOT MESS!  Colt did great and Chase enjoyed running around an NOT having to do assessments!

Even better news, Mom is HOME and feeling well.  All her test came back well.

SNOW DAY -Round #2!

After celebrating a warm (I wore shorts) MLK day with a day at home and off of school, we were surprised with a Snow Day...actually two! Making for a very short school week!
This "snow day" was a mess!  It was more of an "ice day".  Roads got covered in ice and school and Zak's work was was cancelled.
Day one was COLD!  Like the coldest I can ever remember it being.  Bone chilling COLD.  We all rested and relaxed and laid around all day.  You couldn't get out on the roads, heck you couldn't even walk down the driveway with out slipping and sliding! The boys popped in and out throughout the day but couldn't stay out longer than a few minutes.  At a couple points in the afternoon we got big beautiful fluffy snowflakes that immediately turned to ICE when they hit the ground.

Day #2. Was much more fun!  It was still cold and icy but the boys made the most of the day and played outside off and on all day.

It sure was fun having Zak home for these snow days.  Since he missed the last snow day, he really made the most of this one with the boys!

I dont wanna go...

Zak has been planning a trip to the lease this weekend for a few weeks now.  He and Colt have been so excited but Chase, he just was not feeling it.  He wanted to stay home.  Secretly, I was thrilled!
It was a perfect weekend.  Zak and Colt had a ton of fun at the lease and Chase and I had a nice relaxing time here at home.  And, Chase had his first friend sleep over at Tex house.  I think it was the highlight of his Christmas break!

These two were SOOOOO excited to be back together on Sunday!

Bring it on 2018

Happy Happy New Year!
It was a cold one but one of my favorite nights out with the neighbors!
I'm so grateful mom and dad and Bob were able to stay and hang out for most of the night.
Chase made it til about 11:00. He had a little power nap then was up at 12 to ring in the New Year with all of us!
