Swollow Study

Today, we went to Texas Children's to do a Swollow Studay with Chase.  Since birth, he's choked on liquids.  At a recent ENT visit, it came up in conversations.  The ENT showed more concern than expected and sent us for testing.
The testing went well.  Chase was so cooperative.  He started out with a chest X-ray to find out if there was any infection.  There wasn't.
From there, he had a special X-ray where he ate and drank barium coated items and a speech pathologist and Dr. watched as he swallowed.
I know the items were not great tasting but he didn't hesitate!!!
It was pretty cool.  We watched him swallow on the tv and saw how everything cleared.
The Speech Path said that he did swallow a little slower than normal, but that it was all ok.
He did such a great job, lunch was his choice.  CiCis it was.  And look at that plate full...  he ate almost every bite plus a cinnamon roll.

We're thankful for a great outcome!
