WATCH DOGS

Today, Zak was A Watch DOGS at Colt's school.  Colton could hardly hide his excitement. He's been waiting for this day since the day Zak was a Watch DOGS last year!
They both had a great day.  Zak said one of the kindergarten substitute teachers told him he was being too wild with the kids at recess. LOL! He said he had fun but the kids wore him out!

I'm so thankful that my kids have a dad like Zak!  We're all so lucky!!!!

BIKE RIDES

Today, Colt had the day off of school.  It was beautiful out so we loaded up the bikes and went for bike rides at the park with Grandad.  It was so beautiful, we didn't want to stop so we ran and picked up Nanny and lunch and had a picnic and continued to ride!

Feeding Pigs

Last night Ericka and KK invited the kids to go over to the barn to help feed and take care of Ericka's pigs.  The boys loved it!  Well, Colt did.  I heard Chase had a few tears.

Swollow Study

Today, we went to Texas Children's to do a Swollow Studay with Chase.  Since birth, he's choked on liquids.  At a recent ENT visit, it came up in conversations.  The ENT showed more concern than expected and sent us for testing.
The testing went well.  Chase was so cooperative.  He started out with a chest X-ray to find out if there was any infection.  There wasn't.
From there, he had a special X-ray where he ate and drank barium coated items and a speech pathologist and Dr. watched as he swallowed.
I know the items were not great tasting but he didn't hesitate!!!
It was pretty cool.  We watched him swallow on the tv and saw how everything cleared.
The Speech Path said that he did swallow a little slower than normal, but that it was all ok.
He did such a great job, lunch was his choice.  CiCis it was.  And look at that plate full...  he ate almost every bite plus a cinnamon roll.

We're thankful for a great outcome!

PIZZA

For Christmas, Gaga got the boys small rolling pins (the love to help make cookies and biscuits).  When I mentioned we were gonna have homemade pizza they were both so excited to help out and use their new rollers.
I made the dough and they made their own pizza just how they wanted.
They turned out GREAT!!!!

"What day is today?"

We have great sleepers. Like really really good sleepers.  Both boys always have been.
Getting into bed, and staying there, that's a different story.  Colt does great now, but for a long time we let him fall asleep every night on the couch and then we moved him to bed because getting him to stay in there at bed time, was a nightmare.  Now, he asks to go to bed! Chase never had any issues.  He never comes out when we lay him down, but lately, he's started calling for us.  And, every night, without fail, we get our hug, knuckles, and kiss just right and then we go over "What day is it?" 'What day is tomorrow?" "What day was yesterday?".  He knows his days of the week.  I don't know whats up with these questions.  But, he's started screaming for us.  And every time, I run into him.  He looks up at me with those big blue eyes and says, "What is today?"
I try my hardest not to get frustrated because I know one day he'll just go to bed without me.  One day I'll miss these calls because they want to stay up just "one more minute" or see me "one more time".
Im learning, everything is a phase, and this too shall pass.  One day, I'll look back and smile at this silly boy and his silly questions.

And, I'll smile when I hear a song on the radio and no one says, "Mom, I like this song.  Tell dad to put it on my iPad and I wanna go see him!"
Or, I take a picture and someone doesn't yell, "Send that to me!"

These are all things that my silly Chase Man says all day long, everyday!
