Cousin Photo Shoot

Becky invited the boys and Grandad to do pictures with Liam for his 2nd Birthday.  Becky and Liam started pictures out and we joined later. Once we arrived, Liam was just about done for the day but I still think they turned out so great!  The photographer even took a few shots of just the boys and I couldn't love them more.

After, we went to breakfast and then to play with Liam.  We just can't get enough of this happy happy little boy!

Covid

Well, a year and a half into the pandemic and Covid hit our house.
And it SUCKED!
Poor Colt got Covid and it was a whirlwind of a few weeks.  We were suppose to spend Labor Day weekend at Doc and Peaches, but out of caution for Covid, they cancelled.  THANK GOODNESS!!!!  Zak and the guys did meet up at the lease to do a little work Saturday and Sunday.  That Sunday morning of Labor Day weekend, Liam, Baa and Grandad came over to hang out with me and the boys at the house while we waited on Zak to get home.  Colton seemed tired, but, he's a teenager now so....  The boys played all day with Liam.  That night they hung out with and then spent the night at Logans. All seemed fine.
Monday, Labor Day, Colton woke up at Logans and couldn't get out of bed.  Logan and Chase went on to play and Colton stayed in bed.  Sleeping for hours.  Once he got up, he said he felt awful.  He had a horrible headache.  He called me and told me but I didn't think too much of it because he said he was going to go and fish with Logan and Chase.  About 30 minutes later, he came home and said he just couldn't be up and he felt horrible.  The tiredness and headache were  definatley red flags.  I of course panicked a bit. He said, the day prior, when we were with Liam he woke up with a small headache but it went away.  And, he never complained of it to me.  We have had so many scares, SO MANY,  I wasn't sure what to think.  He came home  that Monday, mid-morning and  slept all day.  Chase and Logan continued to play.  We decided that if he woke up Tuesday feeling bad, we'd go get him tested.  Well, Tuesday he woke up feeling even worse.  I found a place through a page on facebook where we could take him and get same day PCR results. We headed down early that morning after traffic cleared.  We pulled into an abandoned garage where ladies in scrubs took his test.  It felt a little shady but I had done some research and they were only in the garage for shade.  There was a lab right outside of the testing area.  About 6-7 hours later, it was confirmed.  Covid Positive.  I knew it.  We called the school, picked up Chase and locked down.  That night we had a virtual Dr appointment with the Pediatrician PA and got some details on what was next. Unfortunately, Becky was scheduled to start her new job a few days later so that was postponed and then a couple days later Liam ended up testing  positive.  Talk about feeling awful.  I couldn't believe we caught this, much less shared it with our best little buddy.  His entire daycare class was shut down for a week.  Thank goodness, he was completely asymptomatic.  Poor Colton felt awful through Wednesday.  Like really really awful.  His body ached, head hurt, ran a low grade fever and eventually got a sore throat. There were a few times he said his chest felt heavy.  Thank goodness for his inhaler.  Surprisingly he hardly ever coughed which is shocking since he gets a cough when the wind blows the wrong direction.  I stayed in constant contact with the Pediatrician.  Thursday, he woke up feeling 100% better.  It was short lived because on Friday he started feeling bad again.  By Saturday, he was getting back to himself.  Besides feeling so bad, staying in his room was the worst.  We masked up to go in and he wasn't allowed out.  So many people were so kind, constantly checking in on him and us.  Grandad made a few deliveries (who knew Gatorade was so hard to find!!!!) and Pa sent two boxes of goodies for the boys to pass time.  The love and attention got us through a very stressful time.  Chase had to miss a few days of school and had to be away from Colt and test negative 5 days later to return.  That Saturday, he did test negative.  I have no idea how!  He lived his best life in quarantine.  We had him stay in his room most of the time too.  I dropped meals at their doors.  He felt great so he watched a lot of YouTube and relaxed.  He only missed three days of school but we tried to stay on top of it which was pretty hard since there was no instruction.  Thankfully, his teachers posted a few things online and caught him up once he returned.  Colton's school has been a whole other story.  7th grade is NO JOKE! Specially 7th grade k level Math and History. Add on top of the work that he felt absolutely awful and there were days he just couldn't do a thing.   3 weeks later, he is JUST now catching up.  It's almost impossible to keep up with ZERO instruction and huge expectations.  He's missed so much football practice because he's had to attend tutoring almost every day.  He missed 5 instructional days.  Thank goodness for Labor Day Monday and the Tuesday the hurricane went right over us.  Those two days were savors for him.
Covid was NO joke.
Zak and Chase felt 100% the whole time.  I was not feeling my best so I did test after Colton tested positive.  I tested negative but I'm still not sure if I had it.  We were all in lock down, so I never tested again.  I can make myself feel awful with worry.  Maybe it was that. I still can not believe Chase never got it.
