That's My Boy

I grew up right down the street from a large middle school with big wide open fields.  Those fields were always full of little league teams playing tball, football and soccer.  For as long as I can remember I watched those fields and thought about the day that I'd have kids who were out on those fields. I always said I can't wait to be that mom out there watching my kids practice and play.
Well, the time has come.  This week, we started Tball practice with Colts team, the Tampa Bay Rays. On Tuesday, as we pulled into the parking lot of the middle school by our house, I was full of excitement.  Maybe more than Colton.  My day was here.  I was THAT MOM!
That was MY BOY out on that field.
We were all so excited.  We weren't sure how Colt would take to it.  But he did great.
The first day of practice all the dads got out on the field and practiced with the boys.  The boys were so cute.  Distracted yes, but over the moon to be out there.  The second day of practice Zak was going to meet us on the fields a little late.  Colt had done so great Tuesday but had stayed very close to Zak.  I wasn't sure how it would work out if Zak wasn't there.  I wondered how I'd get all of our stuff (We had an incredible amount) out to the field, keep up with and carry Chase, and practice with Colt without Zak. We pulled up and Colton was so excited! He jumped out of the car and carried his own (heavy) bat bag all the way across the open field to the baseball fields.  He hung his bat bag up with Mrs. Brenda (Coaches wife) and Coach K asked him to go out on the field and catch.
Off he went.  Without looking back.
And, he played with the Coach and other dads 'til Zak got there.  I was so so so proud.  All this time I've worried that he wouldn't practice or play without us by his side.  What was I thinking?!?!?!  He's ready for this and he LOVES it!
Here are a few pics from Tuesdays practice...

Today was Opening Day for Baseball Season with  CFSA.  We had group and individual pictures and the boys walked in a parade.  We had a lot of fun at Opening Day.  There was a lot for the kids to do and see. It was fun to have a little more time to get to know Colton's teammates and the parents.

We found out today that the first game won't be 'til April 6th and we have three more practices before then.  These boys will be ready for the pros by then!
