Mom Update

A little update on my momma!

July was not kind to her.  After being Diagnosed with Covid July 4th, she returned to her home where she stayed symptom free for 13 days.  Right before she was due to come out of quarantine, she was found in her room, unresponsive.  911 was called and EMS diagnosed her as dehydrated.  They decided it was best to treat her there and keep her at the home.  We knew being dehydrated would take a toll on her but we were hopeful because she was also out of quarantine.  I FaceTimed her one day and she looked as though she aged 10 years.  She seemed tired and confused.  We know she has good days and bad days when things are good so we prayed it was just one of those tough days. We got continuous updates and all the updates we got made us feel she was doing ok. Recovering slowly.  Then, the following Saturday she fell and what we thought was just a pulled muscle turned into a broken hip.  She was taken to the hospital where they took her into surgery the next day.  My dad was able to go up and be with her before and after the surgery.  All went well and the Dr was really happy with the tun out.  She only had to have the ball of her hip replaced.  We were told it would be an easier recovery.  After a couple days in the hospital, and a lot of frustration (I'll spare you the detail), she was sent to a local rehabilitation center.  My dad and I were able to meet the ambulance that transported her and sneak in a BIG OL HUG.  Our first in MONTHS.  Over the days that have followed we've been happy with her placement in the facility.  She seems to be getting great care.  We get many updates and are able to face time with her on a regular basis.  She was quarantined there because she came from the hospital, but is now out of quarantine and on Friday we get to go visit her outside.  We can't wait!  Last week, she had a hip Dr appointment and I was able to rush up, with coffee in hand, and hang out with her and dad while we waited on her to be picked up by the facility.  (She's not able to get in and out of the car yet so they have to transport her.  But, dad met them there and went to the Dr with her.) Seeing her and seeing her happy and looking well was so good for our hearts.  It's been a really long few moths and I'm ready for my sweet momma to catch a break!
Please go hug your mom for me!
