Deputy Goforth

Today I stopped by the gas station where Deputy Goforth senselessly lost his life, Friday night, to make a donation to his family. The gas station is right around the corner from my childhood home. It's a gas station I pass by on a weekly basis and stop at from time to time. A gas station that is always filled with police officers and patrol cars filling up and meeting up. I was overcome with feelings of sadness and anger but also of pride. I'm so proud to be from here. Although everyone is angry and sad and hurt, people are treating this situation with grace, kindness and respect.
