Meemaws House

Two Posts in TWO DAYS...WOW!
I'm sorry I've been missing in the blog world the last few weeks, it's been a long month. I was really sick for two weeks and then we went to Idalou Tx. to visit Meemaw for a week. Then, the last week we had my cousin and her husband in town and Colton and I tried to get back into a routine.
We had an awesome trip to visit Meemaw. Colton, Nanny and I flew out last Sunday. I had been stressing about the flight since the day we booked it. Dreading the though of flying with an almost 2 year old on my lap. We got so lucky and the plane was empty! Even though we didn't pay for a seat for Colton he had his own seat which was a huge blessing. Thankfully there wasn't anyone in front OR behind us. Colton did really well. So did mommy. (I hate flying more than anything in the world!) We had a smooth hour long flight with a backpack full of new toys and lots and lots of snacks. We had such a nice laid back visit. We did a lot of eating, resting and playing.
Colton played so hard on this little contraption in Jerry and Glenda's back yard. If we had a place for him to ride one we would have to get him one. It was hours and hours of fun (for everyone).
Colton loved playing with Meemaw. Meemaw found all kinds of random goodies to play with from dominos to old strollers to plastic fruit. Who needs expensive toys!?!?!
One afternoon Nanny, MiMi (Aunt Glenda) Colton, Barrett and myself went to Red Lobster. Poor Barret was so sleepy but both him and Colton were a huge hit in the restaurant. Waiters, waitresses and customers all stopped to talk to our handsome boys. Colton loved all the attention and ate the whole time we were there so mommy got to enjoy a really nice meal.
On Wednesday night Grandad and Aunt Baa made it in from Houston to stay the rest of the week and we loved having them there with us.
Then, on Thursday night Don and Sandra invited us over for desserts and homemade ice cream. The kids played in the backyard. Poor Colton got eaten by mosquitoes but it didn't slow him down a bit.
Colton enjoyed his first icecream cone...
... And went right for the bottom of the cone.
What a sticky mess...maybe that's what the mosquitoes liked! :)

Friday morning we headed into Lubbock to the park to play and have a picnic.
Colton played so hard.
Fed the ducks.
And enjoyed a picnic lunch.
Colton didn't want to sit down and eat lunch. He wanted to make sure he could eat quickly and get back to playing so he stood under a tree right by us and ate his lunch.
Before we left for the park we got a surprise phone call from Zak who was in Abeline. He had taken a day off work to come up a day early. He met us at the park with Sadie. What a perfect surprise!
Later that night we went back over to Jerry and Glenda's to play and have dinner. The kids couldn't get enough of these little scooters. Barrett even got a ride with big sister!
Of course, Zak couldn't resist a ride. (I didn't put the picture on here but Aunt Baa couldn't resist either. It was quite a sight to see all the grownups on them.)
Here are the "swamp donkeys" out for a ride!
Landry and Logan tried hard to get Colton to pose for a picture. This is as good as we could get!
The night we left, Glenda and Meemaw put together a little party for Colton since they won't be here to celebrate with us. It was so sweet!
Thank you you guys!!!
Colton loved the cake...
...and the gifts!
We had such a great trip. We always enjoy going to Idalou so much. We feel so comfortable there. It's almost like a home away from home. Some of my first and best memories are in Idalou with my grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. I feel so lucky that I've always been able to visit often. Now its so special to have my family with me when I visit.
Here is Meemaw with all of her great grandkids! Gosh we love her...she's such an amazing woman!

We have plasma cars, and the girls hardly ever rode them. ... That is until we moved here, and we live on a hill. They ride down that hill all day long. There may or may not be a video of Kenny and I racing down the hill on plasma cars!
